Extracts From Reviews :
The book under review is an independent translation with explanatory notes by Swami Harshananda, President of the Bangalore branch of the Ramakrishna Math...
The author has provided a scholarly preface to the book, giving a bird's eye view of the contents of the Stotra as well as of the several Ullasas. Readers who are in the habit of skipping prefaces and introductions of books are, however, advised here to give a careful reading to the preface, which will help them in understanding the text.
A proper appreciation of the logic used in the books to refute the other systems of philosophy demands from the readers at least a nodding acquaintance with these systems. It is here that the profuse explanatory notes provided by the author come in handy...
The translation is good and the elaborate explanatory notes by the author add significantly to the value of the book. Serious students of Vedanta should be grateful to Swami Harshananda for bringing out this excellent publication."
