Preface

Ayurveda is the science of life through natural resources; and was the only treatment method available in ancient days. Ayurveda is coming down to the Rishis, from verbal to written texts. In today's scenario when whole world is looking for other alternative treatment methodology; Ayurveda Marma & Panchakarma therapies is the major attraction. These therapies are designed in such a way that, technique is more important than the drug used. We can Say that, they are the best non-invasive method of treatment. Marma therapy is infusion of Prana by pressing and massaging of vital points. It is accepted globally by various methods like Acupressure, Acupuncture, Varmam therapy and Marma massage. As the number of diseases with disability is increasing day by day, it can be the mainstay of treatment. It will be helpful in various musculo-skeletal, neuro-muscular and circulatory disorders, but due lack of precise knowledge and experience become obsolete. This book will explain the practical aspect of Marma therapy, its importance, method, precaution and therapeutic utility. Panchakarma is useful in maintaining normal health and is important in suppression of disease condition. We can understand Panchakarma more capably as an art of body cleansing. Panchakarma is a unique therapeutic regimen of Ayurveda comprising of five procedures that facilitates better bioavailability of the pharmacological therapies, helps to bring about homeostasis of body humours and eliminates disease-causing toxic complexes from the body. When applied skilfully and appropriately, Panchakarma procedures are safe and effective for the prevention and management of a number of health problems. In current scenario, these unique procedures are widely practiced by physicians in India and many other countries globally for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes besides improving the quality of life. These procedures are practised throughout the country with slight difference, so to give them unambiguity, this book will be helpful. Although due attention is given to suitability of the matter and correction of the sentences, if still remained some mistakes please pardon us. We will feel highly privileged if this book enlightens your knowledge on the subject.
