Description
About the Book

In the present book, Making Goods for Villagers, the author has propounded the view that the benefits of industrialization of the country must reach the rural masses. This is a break from the orthodox theory of rural development in which the concept of self sufficient and self reliant villages was sponsored. He has suggested that giving cash loans to the farmers is counter productive. Instead, they should be provided with credit in the form of manufactured goods which would improve their efficiency.

About the Author

Author, R. K. Agnihorti obtained the degrees of M.Sc. (Botany) and LL.b. from Nagpur Univerisity and entered the M. P. Cadre of IPS in 1953. He was posted in different places in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Orissa, where he had the opportunity to study the rural life of these places. He retired from the post of Director General of Police in 1989 and is residing at Bhopal. He has written a book in Hindi on Cosmogony and another book on law entitled "Some Little Known Provisions of Criminal Law" distributed by AIR, Nagpur.
