Description
Patua Painting

Folk Art of West Bengal
About 1000 years ago, the Patua Painters lived in villages of Bengal. In those days, there were no movies, so these painters used to write stories, paint them and narrate to their friends and other villagers while unscrolling the paintings.

The common stories were about gods and goddesses and epics like Mahabharat and Ramayan. They used colours made of natural products like brick powder, turmeric, juices of bark and berries, indigo etc. the Patua painting on the cover is about The Marriage Procession of a Fish. There are 5 original themes of Patua paintings to colour, inside the kit.

Original painting by Chitrakaar Jaidev
Instructions:

First fill inside the outlines of the Patua color cards, using poster colours and/or natural colours, as the one on the cover page. Then write a story around the theme of the painting as the Patua painters would do, and narrate the story. The painting can be framed or used as a bookmark later.

To use natural color, follow the instructions in the sachet to make white and yellow colour and paint in the same way.

Thank you very much for the Shri Yantra with Navaratna which has arrived here safely. I noticed that you seem to have had some difficulty in posting it so thank you...Posting anything these days is difficult because the ordinary postal services are either closed or functioning weakly.   I wish the best to Exotic India which is an excellent company...
