Description
About the Book

The concept of good health and illness has undergone a revolutionary change in modern times. The role of the mind in maintaining the well- being of the body and in curing diseases is now recognised by the medical profession all over the world. What a man thinks, he becomes, is eminently applicable in the maintenance of good health. You can think your way either to health or to illness - the choice is yours.

The book is written in an easy and lucid style, without medical and technical jargon. In a nutshell, it puts in perspective a detailed anatomy of health problems. Case histories from the files of well-known doctors are given to illustrate and substantiate the author's outlook. In short, the book can be used as a practical guide to maintain fitness and eliminate illness, even at the outset of their early symptoms. It will help you understand your body and mind and their correlation.

About the Author

P C Ganesan has written a number of books, which include biographies of eminent personalities like Kamraj, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Jayalalitha. In his tenure as a political analyst he came into close contact with several political leaders. He has utilised his knowledge in writing articles for national dailies and in editing a number of journals. In this book, the author stresses the fact that a man is what he thinks he is. He lays emphasis on the role of the mind in maintaining good health and in curing diseases. The book is written in an easy-to-understand style, enabling one to understand one's body and mind better, and thereby improve one's health.

Introduction

Diseases of the body and mind have assumed immense proportions in today's world. No stone has been left unturned and unimaginably large sums of money have been spent in seeking a cure for the innumerable, 'incurable' afflictions which have become the bane of mankind.

After prolonged and intense research conducted in the West, medical practitioners as well as 1ay people are veering to concepts and conclusions wise people in the East have believed in for centuries - that the mind plays a prime role in preventing, causing and curing diseases of all kinds. As a result, the practice of meditation, yoga, pranic healing and the belief that the mind governs the body, have come to the fore. These are accepted by the medical profession worldwide, in the face of 'miraculous' cures being effected by them and other unconventional methods of therapy.

Where conventional treatment has failed, alternative therapy has come to the rescue and saved many a patient's life or sanity. Whilst the efficacy of modern drugs or methods of treatment cannot the ignored or denigrated, the book advocates a symbiosis of the old and the new, the East and the West, to eradicate most of the ailments that plague us in our fast-moving and stressful world.
