Tribal Four Armed Ganesha

Tribal Four Armed Ganesha

Tribal Four Armed Ganesha

A distinctive miniscule of its own kind, painted on a hand made sheet of paper of a favourable size, in the ever-so-famous Madhubani style of art. Madhubani or Mithila art has its roots from a village in Bihar; it uses two dimensional imagery and naturally derived colors from plants.

As shown here, this stylized Tribal Ganesha painting aptly depicts an association of Madhubani art with nature, scenes and deities from the ancient epics. One may notice the modernized draw of this traditional art; the thin yellow trunk covers the face in the centre focussing on the wide open large eyes along with a spontaneous curve of torso, identifying him as a portly figure; legs folded in popular cross legged posture and the four precious arms painted in a highly conventionalized manner, carry the usual sacred implements that hold their iconic values.

You may be overwhelmed to see the geometric background filled with kinds of motifs and use of bright colored patterns that compliments to that of his crown, reminding us of the sharp and unique tribal art form. This painting holds the speciality of being painted using twigs, pens, brushes, matchsticks and thumb in exquisite bright colors of bravery, culture and beauty.
